Local SEO services that put your business on the map, literally
When someone searches "dentist near me" or "paving company Hamilton", Google answers with a map and three listings first. We work on getting you into that box and on making sure the call that follows gets counted.
Local SEO is the work of ranking a business in Google Maps and in local search results. It depends on a complete and accurate Google Business Profile, a page for each service and location, consistent business details across the web, customer reviews, and tracking that counts calls and bookings. AdCrowd has taken a Hamilton, Canada paving company into the top five map and search positions, with organic and map inquiries tripling in 60 days. We do not guarantee rankings.
What is local SEO and how is it different from ordinary SEO?
Ordinary SEO tries to rank a page for a topic. Local SEO tries to rank a place for a need that has a location attached. The difference shows up on the results page. A search with local intent returns a map pack (Google Maps listings, usually three) above or beside the regular blue links, and the businesses in that pack get a large share of the calls and visits.
Google says local results are based mainly on three things: relevance (how well your profile matches the search), distance (how far you are from the searcher or the place they named) and prominence (how well known you are, from reviews, links, mentions and general web presence). You cannot change distance. The other two are where the work is.
| Local SEO | Ordinary SEO | |
|---|---|---|
| What ranks | A Google Business Profile, plus the website behind it | Web pages |
| Where it shows | Map pack, Google Maps, local organic results | Organic results |
| Strongest levers | Profile accuracy, reviews, categories, local relevance | Content, links, technical health |
| Success measure | Calls, direction requests, bookings, store visits | Organic sessions, leads, revenue |
What does a local SEO program include?
The details change with the business, but the work almost always covers these areas.
| Area | What we do |
|---|---|
| Google Business Profile | Choose the primary and secondary categories, write the services list, add real photos, keep hours and attributes current, set the appointment or website link with tracking, answer questions, post updates. |
| Location and service pages | Build one useful page for each service and, where it makes sense, each location, with the details a local searcher needs: who does the work, what it involves, where, and how to book. |
| Citations and consistency | Match the business name, address and phone number across directories and profiles, and fix conflicting listings. |
| Reviews | Make it easy for happy customers to leave a review, and reply to every one. |
| Local links and mentions | Earn links from local organizations, associations, suppliers and press. No link packages. |
| Schema | Add LocalBusiness-type structured data that matches the visible page. |
| Tracking | Count calls, WhatsApp clicks, form fills and bookings so results can be tied to the work. |
What results has AdCrowd delivered in local search?
A long-established paving company in Hamilton, Canada had a good offline reputation and a dated HTML website that was almost invisible in local search. Their goals were more good leads, better visibility in Hamilton, and an online presence that matched their standing offline.
We moved the site to a modern CMS with clear service breakdowns, calls to action and lead forms. We mapped Hamilton-specific keywords (for example "asphalt paving Hamilton" and "driveway repair Hamilton"), added project showcases, FAQs and certifications, and optimized the Google Business Profile with service areas, categories, geotagged images and customer reviews. We kept the business name, address and phone number consistent across directories, built local citations and links, and managed Google Posts and Q&A.
| Result | Detail |
|---|---|
| Top 5 positions | On Google Maps for terms such as "asphalt contractor near me" and "Hamilton paving company", and on Google search for several service queries |
| Inquiries | Organic and map-based inquiries tripled within the first 60 days after the rebuild |
| Presence | A site that finally looked as established online as the business was offline |

Which industries do you do local SEO for?
Local SEO works for any business that serves customers in a place. Our focus is healthcare and aesthetics, where search is the main way new patients choose a provider, and where trust and accuracy matter more than almost anywhere else.
- Dental SEO: treatment pages, Google Business Profile, reviews and patient enquiry tracking for dental practices.
- Aesthetic clinic SEO: concern and treatment pages, practitioner credentials, consent-based galleries and booking tracking.
- Home and trade services such as the Hamilton paving company above.
What do we refuse to do in local SEO?
Local SEO attracts shortcuts, and most of them break Google's guidelines and can get a profile suspended. We do not:
- Buy, trade or write fake reviews, or offer rewards for reviews.
- Add keywords to the business name that are not part of the real name.
- Create fake or virtual office addresses to appear in more places.
- Run several profiles for one location.
- Promise a map position or a number of calls.
How do we know local SEO is working?
Rankings in a map pack change with the searcher's position, so one screenshot proves little. We look at the numbers that tie to business: profile views and searches, calls, direction requests, website clicks, form submissions and WhatsApp taps, and then bookings or sales where the business can share them. Search Console shows which queries bring people to the site. We set a baseline before changing anything and report each month against it.
How long does local SEO take?
Profile fixes and accurate details can change visibility within weeks. Reviews, links and local prominence build over months. For Hamilton, inquiries tripled within 60 days of the rebuild, but that was a business starting from a dated site with strong offline credibility. Your timeline depends on your starting point and the competition in your area, and we will say so after the audit rather than promise a date.
How much does local SEO cost?
Pricing depends on the number of locations, how many services need their own pages, how competitive your area is and how much reporting you need. We scope it after a look at your profile and website, so get in touch for a quote.
Questions we get asked
What is the difference between local SEO and a Google Business Profile?
The profile is one part of local SEO. Local SEO also covers your website pages, reviews, consistency of your details across the web and tracking.
How long does it take to appear in the Google Maps top three?
It varies with competition and your starting point. In Hamilton we reached the top five on Maps and search and tripled inquiries within 60 days of the rebuild. We never promise a position.
Do I need a website for local SEO?
You can rank a profile without one, but a website with a page for each service gives Google and customers far more to work with and lets you track enquiries.
How many reviews do I need?
There is no magic number. A steady flow of recent reviews, each with a reply, counts for more than a single burst. Competitors in your area set the practical benchmark.
Can you fix a suspended Google Business Profile?
Sometimes. It depends on why it was suspended. We review the cause and the evidence of your real business details before filing an appeal.
Do you work with businesses that have several locations?
Yes. Each location needs its own profile and a page with real local details. We do not copy one page across branches with the city name swapped.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. Nobody can. We agree the work up front and send a monthly report you can check.
What does it cost?
We scope pricing to your business and locations, so get in touch for a quote.
Missing from the map pack?
Send your business name and city. We will compare your profile with the three businesses ranking above you.
